We are a K-8 community of neurodiverse learners who believe in the innate intelligence and potential of every student. Learning at Carillon is individualized, supported, and celebrated. We are looking for a teacher who can deliver a creative, student-centered approach to help us achieve our vision of a vibrant and successful educational community.
Who You Are
A Creative Educator: You possess strong skills in reading and math instruction and have a passion for scaffolding lessons to meet individual student needs in a multi-age classroom.
An Empathetic Leader: You provide a calm, encouraging environment and truly appreciate the diversity of our student body.
A Collaborative Partner: You possess strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with teaching assistants, volunteers, and parents.
Qualified: Experience in special education is required. Virginia state certification is preferred, but we will consider alternative teacher training programs such as Montessori or Waldorf.
As a teacher at Carillon, you will work directly with our founder. Our goal is to hire someone with a desire to move beyond traditional constraints to build a school culture focused on the "whole person," who will be a true co-creator of this environment.
The Details
Student Body: 12 neurodiverse students (Grades K-8)
Support: Low student-to-staff ratios with dedicated assistants and volunteers
Schedule: August 1 - June 15 | 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM teaching day
Compensation: Competitive teaching salary
